I am a full blown vegetarian and I don’t like convincing people to be one I think it’s each person’s choice and judging is soooo last millennium.
When I say I don’t eat meat a lot of people say to me “I wish I was one but MAN I can’t!” or “I feel bad and maybe I should but I love meat too much” or “I know it’s good for my body but…” whatever. I love that the first concern is there and I feel bad that they feel bad not being able to pull Vegetarianism off, I feel empathy since it’s not easy.
To all of you I say try doing it ONE day a week. The amount of resources and good things for your body when you do it is very significant.
That way you don’t have to change your whole life style but still you get to feel good about doing something (or stop feeling bad a little bit). Trust me, one day out of seven and you’d be doing A LOT!
I won’t plug info about this on websites or videos or anything because it’ll seem promotional BUT If you think this makes sense and you’d like to know what I mean do your own research and make your own conclusions.
Just an idea to balance those mixed feelings you might have.
Did you know that the tri-state area is filled with creepy, haunted, bizarre, and terrifying places? Well, it is! You can’t throw a stone from Manhattan to Westchester to Jersey without hitting a freaky ass place that’s the home of a monster, ghoul, or ghost. And UCB performer Chris Gethard knows about all of them from his days spent as the associate editor at Weird NJ magazine and the author of Weird NY (see www.weirdnj.com for more info).
Chris wasn’t just a writer during his days at the Weird empire. He also did things like: go to Virginia to look for an ax wielding man dressed as a rabbit in the woods, infiltrate an iron door covered Nazi hideout on the side of a mountain in New Jersey, and get into a car chase with Satan worshippers in North Massapequa, Long Island. He’s been held at gunpoint twice during his weird explorations - once by an irate lunatic in the basement of an abandoned home for wayward boys, and once by the CIA (no joke!)
Now he’d like to share this fun with you! Come along for a ride on Chris Gethard’s Magic Bus of Haunted Stories. Back in March, Chris took 60 people on a tour of New Jersey so they could check out sites from his bizarre life. Now the old gang (Chris, Purnell, and America’s favorite driver, Wain!) are back together again and hitting the road to show you some of the freakiest places the New York Metropolitan a rea has to offer.
On top of that, look for special activities and guests to help you kick off your Halloween week right!
Participants will be invited to share their own true life tales of terror. Best stories will win the respect of your peers, the cheesiest will be openly booed and mocked.
Friday, October 23rd 11:00 PM Leaving from the UCB Theater The trip should take roughly 3.5 - 4 hours and WILL end at a haunted bar Feel free to bring recording devices, costumes, and flashlights
I need to come up with at least $600 in the next 7 days or I won’t pay rent.
That’s without spending any money in food or any OTHER minor thing.
I got a part-time at a place but I’ll start in two weeks and still it’s not enough but I’m really happy about finally, after looking for job for a LONG time I got one (I’ve been applying for shit you wouldn’t believe like ANYTHING)
Yesterday a friend told me that there are 6 people for every position available in NYC so that made me feel like less of a loser.
With Megan Fox set to host SNL (and most likely be really unfunny), we wanted to look back at some awful SNL hosts throughout the history of the show. Sadly, comedy on the show has fallen victim to the trend of booking hosts who are “hot”, but painfully unfunny. Then of course there was the instance of an episode hosted by Steven Segal – someone who can’t be categorized as “hot” or funny, but clearly had dirt on Lourne Michaels. Below, we’ve listed some of the least funny SNL hosts throughout the show’s history.
I just found this and wonder… since I haven’t had a TV in a long time… What does my comedy friends think of this? Like any opinion so I can know.
